Clayton Road West County - New Fuel Stop and Watering Hole
There is a new feeding station and watering hole along Clayton Road in West County. It is called the Lone Wolf Coffee Company. See following link for information (location, hours, menu, etc.).
http://www.lonewolfcoffeecompany.com/index.html
Had a chance to visit and check out the place and sample the menu. What a neat place! This place is the first place that I know of in the area that is truly catering to the active individual. Has a very cozy atmosphere and an active lifestyle theme (maybe even a slight bias to the cyclist). The staff are super friendly. The food is great and is very competitively priced.
The really neat part is that they are strategically located on the Clayton Road cycling corridor in West County. This will make for a great place to meet for group rides or as a fuel stop when riding out/back on those weekend Clayton Rd. rides.
They open officially on Monday, Jan 26 and is located on Clayton Rd. just west of the Clayton Rd. and Kehrs Mill Rd. intersection (on the south side of Clayton Rd). See link.
Stop by and check out the place, especially when riding out/back on Clayton Rd. Who knows, you might even find yourself in one of the pictures on the wall from previous group rides.

Cycling in Spain
Southern Spain...2005...some neat cycling along the aqua duct path. This is a great way to see the Spanish country side, as well as go from town to town. Some sections of path are shared use with vehicles and on some occassions, vehicles are on the path, although they are not supposed to be there.
Starting point for this adventure was City of Villa Martin, a small tourist area near La Zenia which is South of Valencia. Rode different directions on different days.

Happy New Year!
The Colorado Triple Bypass registration is now open. Some quick reference links are provided below. If interested, be sure to sign up soon as it filled up last year by mid Jan. Remember, number of riders are limited and there is no lottery.
Seven riders from the group have registered thus far including myself. If you are interested in participating, please email me at mogman@earthlink.net and I will add you to the email trails of those participating such that we can coordinate logistics as appropriate and as needed.
Regarding registration for Triple Bypass, you have an option to join Team Evergreen ($30 for individual) and you will receive discount on Triple Bypass registration (TE members cost is $105 versus normal registration at $145). You can have packet mailed to you around mid-June for an additional $6.50 (recommended). Jersey is included and size is selected during registration process.
SPECIAL REGISTRATION NOTE/HINT: If you register, be sure to register for both the Triple Bypass event and Team Evergreen at the same time using the active.com registration form to get discount (http://www.active.com/page/Event_Details.htm?event_id=1664294&assetId=0fff187a-efd3-4e28-a673-e538f3278bd7). Otherwise, you will experience some delays and will have to send in event registration by mail if you registered for Team Evergreen membership independently. Once you go into event registration, select the following: "Club Membership & Event Registration (Membership is additional $30 for Individual, $40 for Family" This will ensure you get discount as well as sign up for registration and membership at the same time. Two email confirmations will come from active.com once you have completed the process.
Logistics, such as depart date from STL, lodging in Colorado, shuttle back from Avon finish to Evergreen start location, etc., are still a work in progress.
QUICK REFERENCE INFORMATION
Route description/elevation: 120 miles from Evergreen to Avon over Squaw (11,140 ft.), Loveland (11,990 ft.), Swan Mountain and Vail (10,560 ft.) passes, with over 10,000 ft. gain in elevation!
